                Welcome! I am Cheryl Dixon

                     founder and creator of Welcome                                        Connections. I am a wife, mother, and an                            entreprenurer. I believe that my strong values                       are key to my business practices and my    personal lifestyle. My supportive family and                    active relationship with my supporters are the vital force that continues to encourage me in new challenges and adventures.

My new creation, Welcome Connections, is a unique and old fashioned welcome networking program, brought up to 21 Century standards. This business is website driven, with a touch of old fashioned sensibilities, such as offering gifts and special offers from our hometown business community. We have also added a Neighborhood Chat feature to our website, allowing the locals an opportunity to give their own neighborly welcome, with advice, tips, and hints about the area.  We provide a Gift Packet, which is delivered to those relocating to the community, new home owners, and our soon-to-be parents, who will be bringing us the very youngest of our new residents to the community. This warm welcome is an invitation to our new neighbors to get to know us, their new community and to invite the "old timers" to take a fresh look at their community.

Over the past twenty years I have been active in the entrepreneurial arena. I have created and run businesses throughout the Northern California area, including the entire Bay Area and the more rural area of Humboldt County. These businesses include:

                    Felicitations, my name is                                      Tracy Lamproe.

                     I am the COF of Welcome Connections                               and New Directions Promotions. I have

been married for 19 years and have two lovely girls.  My strong faith and support from my family are a blessing and joy.

So how about my experiences in the entrepreneurial world?

My first business venture was a lemonade stand.  Yes – I was that cliché.  My sisters and I set up our stand on the front lawn and sold to the neighbors and the occasional worker who was in the neighborhood.  To this day, if I see kids selling drinks in their front yard, I will stop and buy one!  My next enterprise was the standard babysitting.  Well, maybe not so standard since my first job came about when a young woman ran out calling to me as I was riding by on my bike.  I was 12 and soon found out why this lady had accosted a stranger on the street to watch her kids.  They were a handful!

I worked at several part-time jobs while going through college, eventually settling in the insurance industry after graduation.  I worked there over ten years.  With the birth of my first child I chose to be a stay-at-home mom.  After the first year, times being what they were and still are, I needed to help supplement the family income.  I started several work from home ventures, such as Discovery Toys and Pampered Chef.  They not only helped bring in some income, but helped fill some needs in our home. (I love their products!)

With our family’s move to Sandy, Oregon, I was once again back in the traditional work world.  I really missed the freedom of being able to arrange work around my family.  In 2007 I was blessed with meeting Cheryl Dixon.  She invited me to help her restart her Community Connections business.  It’s been an exciting time redeveloping the business to best help the local community grow and prosper.  I look forward to meeting more of my neighbors in the community at our newcomer meet-ups.
